Booklets of Hope for Today

Good morning!

I’ve finally made a few more mini booklets. I had made three initially, but I was giving them away faster than I could make them. One for a friend who got sick, one for a birthday (we try to keep it small) and one for someone who was upset. To my surprise, all of them really appreciated them.  So, I told them all, enjoy them and if you find someone who you feel needs it more than you, then please pass it on!

That’s how my little lights in the darkness were born. My little books of hope!

Here’s three more I made. I’m only going to show you a couple of pages in each one, but will include some quotes and scriptures for you. Also some choruses from songs I found encouraging.  Using sticker paper rather than adhering each one down with double-sided tape was much easier and less time consuming.

I’ve made the pictures large so you can see the writing better. The only challenge was keeping the quotes small enough to fit into the 3”x 4” spot. They’re all encouraging, hopeful, or make you feel better about yourself or life in general.

I cannot set these up as a pdf file as I'm currently using Open Office which doesn't support the correct file types.  I can write them out for you and you can make your own in Word using a table.

For fonts, I used "Times New Roman," "Priscilla," and "Ink Free."

Quotes and sayings:

It's hard to hear

God's voice

when you've already

decided

what you want

Him to say.

Sanctification and Spitup

I have given God

countless reasons not

to love me.

None of them

changed

His mind.

Lysa Terkeurst

Remember...

Fear

and

Faith

Cannot co-exist.

Elsie Welc

Worry is like

a rocking chair.

It gives you

something to do, but

gets you

Nowhere.

The devil wants you to worry

about what's next,

so you can't enjoy

what's now.

The devil is a liar!

Sanctification and Spitup

You can't wait until life

isn't hard anymore

before you decide

to be happy.

Nightbird

Anxiety weighs down

the heart,

but a kind word

cheers it up.

Proverbs 12:25

Let your Smile

Change the world

But don't let the world

Change your Smile

Do not fear,

for I have redeemed you;

I have called you by name;

you are Mine!

Isaiah 43:1

Cast your cares on the Lord

and He will sustain you;

He will never let

the righteous

be shaken

Ps. 55:22

Hard now

Doesn't mean

Hard forever

If today was heavy

Put it down

And give it

to God

Songs I've incorporated:

When peace like a river

attendeth my way

when sorrows like

sea billows roll.

Whatever my lot

Thou hast taught

me to say

It is well,

It is well,

with my soul!

Turn your eyes

upon Jesus

Look full in His

wonderful face!!

And the things

of earth

will grow strangely

dim

In the light of

His glory and grace.

On Christ

the solid rock

I stand

all other ground

is sinking sand

all other ground

is sinking sand!

Scriptures I've used:

Jesus take the wheel

Take it from my hands

Because

I can't do it

on my own!

Retirement Sentiments Freebie

Hi,

I'm still here and it's clear today. We had a wind warning last night which will be in place until Thursday, plus BC is under an emergency order for the wildfires. So I was a bit concerned last night, but it's all good. I can hear planes flying overhead to fight the fires and that's good.

I've been thinking about retirement since my husband recently retired, and out came a sheet of retirement sentiments. Okay, maybe it wasn't that easy, but it was fun!

Here you go, a sentiment freebie! I hope you can use them.

This will probably be my last post this week, so have a great weekend.

PS: see “Digital Stamps info and terms” for information on how to download and use digital stamps. Situated below page header at the top of this blog.

Stamping Bella Bookmark Thank You's

Hi there!

I’m loving these Stamping Bella stamps! I recently borrowed books from a couple of friends and although I'm not done reading both of them, I decided that when I am, I would return them with bookmarks as a thank you. These are rather simple as that’s what I like. Just something to mark the page. The sentiment on the front is one I did up on the computer for myself. If you want a copy of the set of sentiments that include this one, pm me with an email address.  Unfortunately it was really hard to get a good picture. It's so dark and cloudy here lately and all my lighting seems to show up pink or yellow. The background is actually white.

When I initially made these up, I made a mistake. I put the butterfly brads on after the fact, which left the metal on the back exposed. It turned out to be a happy error. As I thought about it, this is what I did. Anyone using a bookmark is obviously a book lover. Why not a quote, or a poem?

I don't know about you, but I love this idea. I am an avid reader, both online and reading actual books. These little Stamping Bella coffee girls make me so happy (also an avid coffee drinker :).

That's it for today!

Blessings!

Curvy Girls Cards, free sentiments

Hello!

How I love this time of year! There's a nip in the air, the leaves are starting to turn and everything feels fresher. Sometimes I feel like Vianne in Chocolat. Have you watched that movie? I'm a seasonal crafter, you see. I find it hard to do arts & crafts in the summer, but the Fall, Winter and Spring are fair game. It's like the Craft Wind is calling, and I must yield!

Anyway, enough of that. I found a little company/blog called Stamping Bella. They have a set of stamps called Curvy Girls that I fell in love with. I ordered three of them and received them a couple of weeks ago. So I had to play --

I decided to make some clean looking cards with these.

I like the sentiments that came with them too.
However, this next one has a sentiment on it that I made up. I can't sell them because of some copyrights, but I can give them away for free -- check below.

Here's the third one. I love the coffee ones the most!

I should also mention that the Stamping Bella site has a Youtube channel where they show you how to color with Copics. The only drawback is that you'd have to have the Copics to do it, but I still found it fascinating to watch and very helpful (I have a mixture of Artist Loft and Copic markers).  If you want to have a look, the channel is called Marker Geek.

Now for the free sentiments --

Please note: the backgrounds of the images on google have been changed to black. This means that because this is a transparent digi (so that you can print it on any color of paper), you will not see the black lines of the text. Just click on the image below, it'll take you to another page that looks blank. Right click on the middle of the page and 'save image as,' choose the file you want to save it into. When you use the image in a Word Document, the image will show up because the background will be white instead of black. So, no you won't initially see it, but yes it is there!

Thanks for stopping by!

Puzzle Piece Sentiments

Good Morning,

The other day I showed you some of my Craft Sale Haul which included a puzzle piece punch. Today I thought I'd offer a few Puzzle Piece Sentiments for use on your cards or scrapbook pages.

I intend on using these myself for a few cards which I'll post soon.

If you use these, please send me a photo of your project and I'll add it at the end of my puzzle card post as inspiration for others. I'll include links to your blog page if you provide it. You can also post it yourself under the comment section if you prefer.

For helpful information on how to download a digital stamp and store it, that information is posted under my Blog Header under  'Digital Stamps'. Please have a look.

Thanks for stopping by,

Blessings,

New Cards and Free Sentiments

Hello everyone,

I've made a couple of cards and did up some Digi Sentiments to go with them. I'll provide those here if you want to download them.

Here are my recent cards. The first one I was just playing around and using some of my Digital Stamps (Old fashioned Light Bulbs). I used a 6 x 6 paper pack called Craftsman Collection put out by Prima.

I actually messed up by getting some ink on the inside, but thought I'd show you one of the ways to cover this up without anyone knowing. The light bulb works perfectly and no one would know.  It looks like an added element meant to be there.

This is the sentiment I did up to go inside the card. It's a freebie, so go ahead and download it for your light bulb cards.

This next one I made up for our nephew who just had his first baby. This one was very simple as the designer paper did all the work, save the pearls and the added bottle sticker I had handy.

I saw a similar sentiment somewhere in the past and decided to make one up to put with this card. I love this little saying.

Here it is as a free digi for you to download. Most of you probably make up baby cards now and then, and this saying is kind of cute!

You've already seen this card, but I am just including the sentiment as a freebie below and wanted to remind you where you'd seen it used before.

Well, that's it for today. My eyes are sore because of this computer. It's still going off and on to a black screen as I'm working. It's very disturbing. I will probably have to buy myself a new computer soon.

Have a good week everyone!

Blessings,
Carmen

Birdie Bits

June is here and along with it came some much needed rain. I actually don't mind the rain. It seems everything smells fresher afterwards. Since it was pretty rainy, I stayed home and played with some new stamps I received for my birthday in May.

I also made up some really quick sentiments to go along with them. I will leave them for you here, but technically, they're not digital stamps as anyone can make them up in Word. I just wanted a few Scriptures to go with the cards.

I used the same birds on both cards, but there are quite a few more in this set. I also received the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamp set. I'll use those another time. Both sets also came with stencils. I'm going to have fun!

Here's the sentiments....

Well, that's it for today. Have a great week!

Blessings,
Carmen

Retail Therapy Card

Good morning!

As promised, another card today. I used two of my digi's to make this card. The steampunk boots in my Etsy Shop, and the Dress Forms, which are a freebie on this blog.

First a couple of previews...

Then the card

The inside

So I decided it needed a sentiment.

Might as well give you that as a freebie. Click, then save.

Although I used the free dress form Digi's I did up, I covered them so you can hardly see them.

Way to feature your stuff, Carmen. Lol...

Are you wondering what the dresses are made of? Not a great picture, but you get the just of it.

Note the mirror. I just used some electrical tape for the mirror, put the dress form on, put some preglued bling on top and cut them out. Easy.

I haven't actually decided if I'm going to sell this one or give it to someone. In any case, the dresses are made with a bit of kleenex. Just in case you're still wondering.

Have a great weekend,
Blessings!

"Anytime is Bean Time"

The first thing I do after I get up in the morning is have a cup of coffee. A BIG cup of coffee! We were gifted a Tassimo one Christmas by one of our sons. I drink the "Gastown Grind" like a true Canadian, and my husband drinks the bolder Gevalia. We LOVE our coffee. I'm not one for Starbucks or Timmy's on a regular basis. I'd rather go home and have good coffee. Lolol---

Anyway, this coffee card was a natural for me. I used the paper coffee cup digital...free for you.

I am also offering the sentiment for free below.

I used Graphic 45's Le Cirque Collection designer cardstock for this card. The flowers were some I had in my stash.

The inside of the card

This card will be available in my Etsy Shop for purchase!

And here is the free sentiment. Many of you probably already have a coffee cup or mug of some kind you can use with this sentiment. You know the drill, just click and save it.  Enjoy!

Have a great day everyone!

Blessings,
Carmen

Sentiment Freebie

I have a sentiment freebie for you today. It's been a while since I've done any new digitals, so I'm starting again with a really quirky one. To be honest, this one came from my husband who is quick witted. I asked him "what's a fun, quirky little sentiment or quote?" and this was what he came up with. So don't be offended, it's just for fun.

If one of you out there happens to make a card or a scrapbook page using this sentiment, I'd love to see it.

Personally, I'd love to see the dirt - - right now it's all about the snow.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Blessings,
Carmen

Squigglefly Cards, Free Toad and Owl Digis

Good morning!

I'm just dropping by to share some more of the Squigglefly cards made with my images.

Who wants to kiss this little toad and see if he turns into a prince? Lol...not me!
This happy little card was made by Charlene at Chrystaldolphins

The owl image seems to be a popular one, here are a few more cards I've come across using this image:
By Holley from Holley's Blog

By Kathy, from Entering Kathyville

There is another owl card on THIS post which you may not have seen.

Anyway, that's it for now.
Have a good day!
