Card Making Break

I recently spent some time making cards to sell. My Etsy Shop has digital stamps for sale but I used to sell cards there as well. With the cost of shipping I am not sure it will be worth it, but I will do some test runs and see how it works out.

I will be selling these soon. The Tool Belt Card I listed today on Handmade in Kamloops FB page for $10 CAD. I thought maybe I could find a local market for these cards. This card is quite heavy with all the metal embellishments and the inside is finished quite nicely. However shipping might be a bit which was one reason I put it on FB. Did I mention how much I love making cards for men? I'll be making several more of these.

These next two are very simple mens cards. I love vintage autos, and I love metal embellishments. These cards boasts both. They are also weightier cards with the metal on there. I think I'll put $6.50 CAD on these ones.

This next one is similar to a card I made for my Dad a few years back. I like the use of maps on cards and I love the little knot I made with hemp twine. Note the metal pirate type sword too, and the little boat on the inside. I really have to stop using metal if I want to ship them, but I like the look of it. I'll probably charge $6.50 CAD for this one too.

This card I made for fun. I guess it could be a Valentine's card. It was made using Bo Bunny papers. I love this set of papers and am just about out of them. The sentiment is a sticker I had. I popped up the background it's on. The inside is simple and ready for some personal thoughts. I love this colorful card. I might keep this one.

I'll be doing some painting this week. I have about 23 lessons to go, and at least 20 of those are paintings to paint. I'm hoping to get the course done before the end of May this year. At first it was taking me 10 hours to do a painting, but I'm down to about 6-8 hours as I'm getting a bit better, or sloppier. One of the two. Lol.

I love doing so many crafts that I'll be doing other projects in between and hopefully getting my shop stocked up. There will be cards, sewn pouches (I used to sew professionally), and crochet patterns and products. Eventually I may even throw up a few paintings.

Well, I'm at the end of this post. Hope you enjoyed the cards.
PS: Wow, has it ever been snowing here.

Blessings to you and yours,
Carmen

Valentine Cards

Hello there,

I mentioned last post that while I was re-organizing and sorting my craft supplies, I came across partly finished projects. I had a sheet with some children's pictures and decided to cut those out and put them on a card. They're Valentine themed and very simple cards.

With this one I decided to put the greeting on the inside. I wrote a greeting on the outside.  I made dashes around the perimeter of the card and put some embroidery floss in the buttons.

With the bunny card I put the greeting on the outside and just added some hearts and writing on the inside. Super simple card.

That's it for today!

Blessings,
Carmen

Loads of Love. Tulip Loaded Clogs, Freebies

I've been going through all my craft stuff and re-organizing everything. Such a huge job, but it's a good opportunity to get rid of things. I brought a bunch of things to Flutterby's, one of our local thrift shops. I also found some incomplete projects, so I will be trying to get those done in the next while.

For today I have a couple of quick cards I did up for Valentines.

For this card, the Digital Stamp Set comes with a truck full of furniture, and also a truck with nothing in it.

I took the latter one and filled it with hearts. The former one would make a great moving day card.

I love wooden shoes, because I'm part dutch. This set of stamps has three different wooden shoes.

For this card I used the Friesian one.

These two were quick, easy cards to make. That's about my speed lately as I've been trying to remain very focused on what I want to get done this year. I really enjoyed making these.

I've been painting lately. I chose to try painting in oils with a palette knife. To learn how, I took a course by Leonid Afremov, a world renown artist. I've been enjoying those classes. Working with only a palette knife requires finishing the painting in one sitting while the paint is still wet. That's been something to get used to as I'm just learning and the paintings take 8 to 10 hours of work. However, it's a good feeling to get each one done. So far I have received perfect marks, so I'm happy. Maybe one day I'll be an artist too! ;)

Have a good weekend everyone,

Blessings,
Carmen

Top Ten Of All Time!

As a blogger I love to write blog posts and share my creations with you. It is so much fun!

However, when it comes to keeping track of the numbers and all the details involved, marketing skills, and grouping -- I don't really shine. Truthfully, that has become such an important part of being a successful blogger, especially in recent years, that it is a necessary part of blogging.

So here I am, bringing you my top ten. I feel a little guilty about this because I'm not even sure it really truly counts as an original blog post, but hey...everyone's doing it. I know this far from encompasses what it'll take to be a successful blogger, but that'll take time, unlike Rice Krispie Squares!

There were some surprises!   My Christmas posts are the most popular overall. Two of them are Sleigh Rides. Perhaps it is because I started doing them prior to Pinterest becoming really popular. Valentine images are also popular.

The surprises to me? The Page, the Elf Boot and the Mushroomville Digital. I had no idea.

Here we go from 1 to 10:

#1 Sleigh Ride #3 (A collection of Christmas ideas, recipes, decor, etc.)
by Crazy Domestic
#2 Digital Stamps Page

This was not even a post but is a page on my blog ( See above) . It's crazy, but a LOT of people look at this page. It's more of an informative page about Digital Stamps, what they are, how to use them, etc.

#5 Sleigh Ride #2 (A collection of Christmas recipes, ideas, decor, etc.)

#6 Primitive Angel Freebie

#7 Primitive Snowman Digital

#8 Free Heart Tree Digi's (Various colored Heart Trees and one blank)

#9 Awning Card (There were several Digitals made to be used with this card)
By: Beyond The Fringe Crafts
#10 Mushroomwille Digital Stamps

I guess it's good to look once in a while. I'd sure hate to get caught up in the numbers though! My steampunk images were so popular when I came out with them, that I'm very surprised not one made the top ten. I guess that's why you have to look!

In Other News:

I'm still working on my kitchen. Almost everything that needs to be painted, is now painted. So happy!!

On the not so happy front, I just found out that the counters are not going to be in until the 20th (2 weeks later than previously indicated to me!!).

"Patience is a virtue...patience is a virtue......."

I'm just going to keep telling myself that. Unfortunately, the kitchen update will have to wait.

Have a good week and be kind to everyone you meet!
