I'm back to show you what I did with the photo papers with blown inks. Remember these? Of course you do! It was only yesterday, after all.
Here are the cards I made with some of them. I love quick cards. I have to tell you that the ink shows up much better in real life than they do here. I'm afraid they don't look as good in a photo.
I used a metal frame for my sentiment on this one.
A silver clock brad with real clock hands finished off this card.
To be honest, I took some markers to touch up the inks on this card.
In hindsight I would not spray the shimmer mist on top of the ink to make it more fluid, as it doesn't work well on photo paper at all. It leaves a film on top, especially noticeable if you use too much. Since I used a stamp over some of the cards, it didn't show, which is lucky for me.
I think they turned out okay - what do you think?
Have a good weekend!
Blessings,
Carmen
What intense cards these are with the strong stamping over the bright colours - and totally fascinating

Thank you!
DeleteThese came out great. I love the picture of the person with the ink being their flowing hair. A have a twirly machine (Paint-o-twirl) that I've had since a kid. You put cardstock on it, turn it on and it spins the paper. When you add paint, it spreads it out. I think I'm going to haul that out (just another thing that should have been tossed years ago, but I couldn't part with a childhood memory LOL) and try this...I'll let you know what happens.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't believe you're down to one room. I'm still working on my first. One day....
OMGoodness- I remember those paint-o-whirls/twirls?! That would be awesome! The effect might be a bit different, but you could do a fall card with leaves twirling in the air. Now I wish I had one! Have fun! I'd love to see it if you do play!!
DeleteHeather!! Look at this- they're making them again. It's going to take some willpower to look the other way. I'm purging after all!! Sigh...https://www.amazon.com/Paint-N-Swirl-Art-Machine/dp/B00000ISTP
DeleteToo funny!! But $43, wow. What a huge price increase (although I'm sure it's all relative to our current income, etc). I'm glad I kept mine. I haven't played with it yet, but I'll let you know when I do.
DeleteHaha! I know!! And your old one is probably a better quality!!
DeleteI love what you did with these; so stunning and artistic. hugs, Teresa
