Birthday Countdown and Northern Lights

Good Morning!

It's a nice sunny day here and although I'd love to go out, I have been so sick. :-(   I just took some Tylenol Day for cold and flu about 20 minutes ago...so I am not responsible for what follows... (jks). I do feel a touch better today...

Lately I've been playing around with the Northern Lights Technique.
I'm not sure if they resemble northern lights that much, but I still like them. They needed more dark sky in them, so I'll continue to work on that. I'd also like them to be going a bit sideways.

As you can see I played around a bit with the wheat field, opting to make it look less like northern lights and more like a colorful sky.

I made a card out of one of them but I had a really hard time getting a good photo of it because there's some metal foil on it, but here it is. It is for a guy.

Secondly, I'd like to share something my DIL, Julie made for her friend Leanne. This is a take off the Christmas Advent Calendarsbut used for a birthday instead.

Leanne loves giving gifts and she also loves to receive them. Her birthday is at the end of May, but she starts at the beginning of May with a countdown to her birthday, which she calls LeanneFest.

Lol...so this is what Julie made her.
Her very own Countdown Calendar for LeanneFest.  Crazy, right?

This picture was taken before the project was completed, but I had to go out of town and she was giving it to her the next day, so there are no numbers on the cards yet, and she added a title that's missing from this photo as well. In any case, Leanne loved it.

She filled each muffin spot with a gift, one for each day. All the magnetic cards speak about something specifically important in Leanne's life...such as Family, Vancouver, Coffee and a bible, May -- as that is her birth month, etc. I thought she did a great job

This from someone who says she's not a crafter. Then again, when your MIL (me) loves to make everything, I guess it can become contagious after a while.

Not that I'm taking credit!! She did this all on her own!

Well, that's all I have for you today. I'm going to get myself some tea and do a bit of reading. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow!

Have a good weekend!

Blessings,

Carmen
