Ridgeview Card and a Free Sentiment

Howdy Pardner's!

Okay so I'm not a cowboy, but I do live in Cowboy Country! This week Ridgeview celebrates "Cowboy Week", and so my card for them is on that topic.
I took the photos down in my basement, so I apologize for the quality...I just didn't want to bring everything upstairs!

Here's what my desk looks like at the moment...well a portion of it. You'd all be shocked if you saw the rest of it.
The gold stickles are drying on the blue cardstock. For the hats, I had to cut one hat out and then make several more by hand; cutting, inking and marking them all. It's a fun thing to do while watching TV.

Here's the freebie, and if you check out the rest of the post, I'll have a supply list and written tutorial if you'd like to make your own.

Supply List:
Recollections Card and Envelopes: 4" X 5.5" in light brown.
White Cardstock:  3.5" X 2.75" (with printed image on it) Arthur's Clipart, Cowboy with Guitar
Background designer cardstock: 2 @ 4" X 3 "
Image background: 3.75" X 3"
Inside cardstock: 3: X 4.5"
Ribbon (mine was a stretch canvas ribbon I picked up)
Star shaped brads
Golden Rod Stickles
Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Glue
Double sided tape
Tacky tape
Copics for coloring
Sharpie Marker

(For the background on the front of the card, I used Bo Bunny Dark Denim Vintage, Wild Berry Vintage, and Weekend Market Stripe. For the hats I used paper from 7 Gypsies Angelo pad)

Instructions:

1) Cut and ink the top background cardstock edges. Put stickles around the top of the background to look like stars. Let dry.
2) Cut bottom background piece, image background and inside of card. Ink edges on all.
3) Print off the sentiment on light brown cardstock, it s/b about 1.5" long. Ink edges. Cut into strips and add brads. Add tacky tape to hold the brad in place and eventually hold down the sentiment - put aside.
4) Print 2 images off on white cardstock. It should be just under 3.5" x 2.75". Color all of one image except the hat. Then cut the image to 3.5 X 2.75 and ink the edges.
5) Cut the hat off of the second image and use it as a template to make a hat with another piece of designer cardstock. Using a marker, mark in the missing lines. Distress the edges of it with ink.
6) Tape the top of the background onto card base, and then tape the bottom of the background allowing it to cover a portion of the top piece of the background.
7) Glue ribbon to cover the top of the bottom piece of background.
8) Tape image onto image background and then place pop dots on the backside. Adhere over the background cardstock.
9) Adhere sentiment.
10) Adhere inside of the card. Add stamps if desired, and write greeting.

Hope that's helpful!

A reminder: The GIVEAWAY ENDS TONIGHT at midnight PST, and I'll be drawing a name tomorrow. Don't miss out! Check it out HERE.

Blessings!

  2. Thanks for the sweet sentiment. I wonder how many of us are old enough to have watched Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and heard her sing this song on the show.

The only way a picture of your entire desk would shock me is if it was clean. I haven't seen a clean craft desk in so long I can't even remember when it last was. lol Blessings and hugs!!!
