Graffiti Card for a Teen plus Free Digi's

Hi there!

A while ago I did up a some Graffiti Digi Stamps in THIS post. At the time I wanted to make a card for our adopted grandchild Haylie, who turns 14 today! Today I'm here to show you the card I made her.

It was extremely hard to get a good photo of this because at the time I took it, my camera lens had some fog in it. Plus, there's a shimmer on the card that you can only see from certain angles...so I did my best!

I thought I'd also explain the process for you.

1) I inserted the Digi stamps into Word and cropped the words, which I copied into Publisher.
2) Once I'd placed the words where I wanted them, I printed it twice. Once on cardstock and once on regular paper.
3) I cut out the paper words and placed them over the words on the cardstock. I then stamped over them with brown ink using a Brick Wall stamp.
4) Using various markers and Copics, I darkened the words to make them stand out more.
5) I put the cardstock through a Cuttlebug folder to emphasize the bricks.
6) Printing off a free digi from Kenny K.com, I cut it out and colored it.
7) I also cut out the Spray Paint Can Digi which I will offer below.
8) I took Inka Gold and highlighted the brick with various colors...I used the Bronze, Hematite Blue , Green and Gold.
9) I found a random embellishment and used it as an earring which I attached with Glossy Accents.
10) I added the backing paper, which was from the 7 Gypsies Angelo paper pack.
11) I attached the backgrounds, and added the girl and the spray paint cans with pop dots.

Here's some more photos of it. Note the paint splatters also!

I'm trying to show the shimmer on the card here...
You'll have to excuse my ink stained fingers!

Here's the free digi to go with it.

I also changed some of the colors on the words, so I'll include that digi again with the new colors.
Well, that will have to do!

Enjoy!
Carmen

  4. Your card is awesome, Carmen! You did a terrific job with shading and texture on the bricks.

I have a question. What width of the metal tape do you use for your metal art projects? I had some wide metal tape in my stash and have run out. I'm wondering if I could get by with the tape that's about 2" wide, because it's far less expensive than the wide tape. Blessings and hugs!!!
