Izzy

Hello there!

I've been quite sick and am slowly recovering. I haven't done a whole lot of scrapbooking, or anything else for that matter. Today I did spend a little time putting something together of my sister Izzy.

This photo shows her with platinum blonde hair. I think it looks so nice on her. She is a blonde, but not quite this blonde. My brother is blonde too...but I have dark hair and olive skin. I'm always trying to be different!

Below are some of the details on the page: The dragonfly and butterfly are handmade. The roses are also handmade. I've realized that I like making little things like that. The first photo below says, "sisters by birth, friends by choice." It's a little hard to see so I'll probably darken it.

And here's a better photo of the completed page: Notice that all the flowers have glimmer mist on them, and so does the background page. I love shiny things...=D

I've inked everything...and I don't know if you can see it...but the top left corner has a bit of detail. I should have taken a photo of it.

Well, that's it for today. I apologize for the poor photo quality of my pictures. I need to figure out how to take good quality photos because the colors are never really true.

Hope you enjoyed stopping by. Thanks for visiting!

It's Time to Give Something Away!

Hello Everyone!!

First of all, I want to tell you how much I appreciated all of your wonderful comments on the Carpenter's Tool Belt Card!! It's truly a pleasure to do a giveaway to three of you to share with someone special in your lives.  Thanks also to all those who have decided to follow this blog! I hope you'll enjoy our times together.

I actually videotaped the drawing of the names...but I really hate seeing myself on video. It's so awkward! My eyes were darting all over the place and my face was doing funny things, one of my sleeves was folded up, etc... so I haven't included it, nor can I be bought to include it. Trust me, you don't want to see it. However, I will tell you what the results were. Are you ready??

Winners of the Carpenter's Tool Belt Cards are:

Winner #1 is Amy @ The Red Chair Blog

Winner #2 is Angie @ The Country Chic Cottage

Winner #3 is Krissi from ~My Heaven

Congratulations Ladies!!!

I have left the tags on the cards blank so that they can be customized.  I will be emailing each one of you, or leaving a note on your last blog post.

Thank you all for participating! I appreciate each and everyone of you!

Bella's Diaper Cake

Hello Everyone,

It's been a bit busy around here lately, plus I've been sick, so I thought I'd post some pictures of something I made a while back for a friend's baby shower.

Here is the front: That pig is a bank...and the bird thing is a finger puppet...

...and here is the back side: love the baby booties and the doll finger puppet. There's also a book in there somewhere...

A few close ups for the curious: there's a baby bottle candle in there somewhere...

Note the little hair pieces, washcloths and socks...some of them folded up like flowers...

This one shows a package of organic gummi bears for Abbey (the big sister)...

There are a few finger puppets on here...this little duck is just so adorable!!  No cake of this kind would be complete without a tag...

...and here's a few more because they were so much fun to make that I got carried away:

I got the idea for the cards from another blog or youtube...but it's been a while and I honestly don't know where I saw them anymore. I changed the original to reflect my taste a bit, but I didn't come up with the design myself.

These are always a big hit at baby showers and such a nice centerpiece for the table when wrapped up in a big cellophane bag and adorned with ribbon!
Thanks for visiting! Remember to check back Friday night for the giveaway results!

Carpenter's Belt Card

Hi!

I was recently asked to make a card for a maintenance worker. I decided a carpenter's belt would be appropriate, and found some inspiration for that on Mel Stampz. I used the template they provided and adjusted it for a card. This would be great for a masculine birthday or Father's Day card. So without further adieu...here's the card.

I took a brown piece of cardstock and made it look leathery.

I got the little tools at the local dollar store. The tape measure is actually from a 12 X 12 piece of paper with tape measures all over it. I just cut off one and folded it several times. I inked almost everything...as usual.

I love the little hammer! Note the faux stitching as well.

I'm hoping my Dad doesn't look at my blog. It's his birthday on Tuesday and because he's a bit of a handyman, I just had to make one for him too. Shhhh!!

While I'm at it, I may as well show you the inside too...

That's it for today. Thank you for visiting!

I hope you enjoyed!
