Blog Candy Reminder...

A quick reminder that the Christmas Mini Album is still up for grabs! Since this is a new blog, there won't be many entries, so your chances of winning are great! To participate, you need only post a comment at the end of the post here, and become a public follower. That's it!

It turns out I will be away until November 6th, so I will not be able to mail it out until then.

Good luck to all!

Useable Crafts

Hello Everyone!

Instead of making cards for November, I thought we should make something the ladies can use in their rooms. So I made some prototypes to show them next week when we do our Halloween cards. Here is a photo of the two items we'll make:

The first item is a binder clip altered to hold a photo, some mail, tickets to the hockey game...or what have you!

Here's a close up of that one.

Oooops...looks like one of the petals needs to be pulled out.

The second item is:

A nice big bookmark!!

I know they'll enjoy making these, and I'm sure there'll be time for tea after. I'm having so much fun!

Until Next Time,

Scrapbook Yard Sale Haul

The weather is unseasonally cold here right now. Yes, our temps dip pretty low in the winter...but it's not winter. In fact...what happened to Fall? Anyway, that didn't stop me and some other diehard scrapbooking fans from running our frozen little fingers through some yard sale boxes this weekend. I forgot what it felt like to thaw fingers...and though it hurt.. I did it with a smile on my face!! This yard sale was put on by Lisa Padley from Moments Matter. She decided to share some of her overstock of goodies with us, frozen little popsicles that we were.

I was particularly happy with the stamp sets. Love the "Birthday Cupcakes" from Inkadinkado...great to use for Ridgeview projects down the road. The sentiments set is from CTMH, "Because of You" (retired) and my absolutely favorite of the 3 is "Elegant," from Sharon Ann's delightful collection. The Quote Stack is Holidays and Seasons, and the Rub Ons are Bohemia. Love 'em!

I also picked up a 7 Gypsies 6X6 paper pack. These are absolutely wonderful papers!

Some buttons and brads....

Some flowers......

Ribbon and lace....

......and LOTS more paper and cardstock for pennies on the dollar.

Afterwards I met up with some other scrap addicts for a coffee where we shared our hauls amongst ourselves. I'm ashamed to say that I wanted some of what they had. I used to hate spending money...but scrapbooking is changing all that. Anyone relate?? I haven't had this much fun in a long time. I want to do it again....and very soon!! Can't wait to put these pretties to some good use!

Thanks Lisa!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

I can't believe it's October already! Things have been extremely busy lately. Today I went to Ridgeview and did some cards with the seniors. I've finally figured out how much to prepare the cards ahead of time so that they can make them and enjoy the process. It was a lot of fun.

I am going back on the 20th to do another class with them. Same card, but Halloween focused. I'm looking forward to it. Apparently we're going to fit in some tea too.
I'm working on a couple of other crafts for them as well, and I want to get a page done soon. I'll be posting them when they're done.

Right now I'm expecting more company...Thanksgiving is coming this Monday. Unbelievable!!

Keep on creating!!
