A Little Birdie Told Me...

Hello!
Today I have another card to share with you. I have been looking forward to making this card because I knew I wanted to use a birdcage diecut on the front. I've also had some Websters pages for quite a while and mostly just looked at them because I didn't want to cut them up! How silly is that? After a year of looking at them I finally cut into one sheet. It was painful, but once I'd finished the card, I was happy I did. :)

I'll show you some of the details below...Note the little clock in the tear at the top left corner. Also the chain holding the bird cage. (I have chains and watch parts from an uncle who used to repair watches. He was a missionary in India most of his life and raised all his children there, so this was just his hobby. His wife made beautiful clocks out of watch parts. I may try that one day, but it's very fine work!!)
For the cage, I took some paper and ran it through the cuttlebug first to get some definition. Then I inked it a bit and glued it onto the chipboard. Once dry, I fussy cut it all. The bird and cage are from Maya Road. I just recently picked up the glitzy loopy brown ribbon from Creative Accents in Williams Lake.

I apologize for the blurry picture...but my USB stick isn't working very well, so I'm just leaving it as is. I threaded the rip here and placed a little mini rose at the bottom which I hung the sentiment onto.
I added some little butterflies above the garden on the bottom right, and the little fence. The clock is cut from paper out of the Bo Bunny's Timepiece Collection.
Check back within the week, as I have another card to share inspired by Ingvild Bolme! It uses some of the watch parts I mentioned above. I can't share it yet because it's for my son who just passed the test for his Journeyman and International Tickets in Electrical. We're so proud of him!!!

UPDATE!!!

Rather than do up another post, I decided to add another similar card to this post. I made this one for my son to give to some people that helped him out.
And a close up of the bird and cage:
Now I'm out of birdcage chipboard....time to go shopping!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a good day!

  2. What a stunning card I love all the curled tears and the watch parts. My grandfather was a watchmaker and it used to fascinate me. I know how you feel about paper, I do as well so I always buy one to cut and one to look at!!!
Thanks for all your beautiful freebies as well:)

  3. You have such a wonderful literal perspective in your cards--everything pops as you would want it to, and the surprises in the reveals are great. Just a beautiful piece to look at--don't know how you manage to part with them. Love the history on the card, too. You might consider putting that on the back....

  5. Hi Carmen, Your cards are very pretty and have such cute details! I can understand that you had a difficult time cutting into the paper. That happens from time to time to me too, mostly with fabrics :-).
    Have a lovely week!
    Hugs,
    Julia
